Level 1 Project
City & Guilds Learning programme require that students evidence the following learning outcomes:
In addition to the practical work you will have already completed during the creative path assignments, you will be required to produce the following for presentation:
- Measure and record sizes accurately
- Draw simple plans and elevations for a given room, showing the furniture layout, lighting, services, furnishings and accessories
- Use basic positioning requirements for various services, including electric switches, sockets and appliances, heating sources, water supply, waste water removal and telecommunications equipment
- Use basic positioning requirements for various accessories including mirrors, pictures, plant material
- Use primary and secondary colours with tints and tones to produce a harmonious, a contrast or a monochromatic colour scheme on outline plans and elevations
- Use examples of textured materials for wall surfaces, floors, flooring, furniture and furnishings
- Use examples of pattern and motif design for wall surfaces, floors, flooring, furniture and furnishings where appropriate to the room design
In addition to the practical work you will have already completed during the creative path assignments, you will be required to produce the following for presentation:
- x3 concept/design boards
- 1:20 scale drawing of the space including all FFE's (fixtures, fittings & equipment)
- 1:20 scale overlay showing an Electrical & Lighting Plan
- x4 1:20 scale elevation drawings
- Approximate costings
- Production/learning 'diary' detailing the order of work & time spent on each part
- Production estimate
- A final written evaluation
